Internships

The only way to have more leaders for tomorrow is to train young people to be leaders now.

Internships give outstanding Kansas 4-H alumni the opportunity to work with the Foundation. Interns gain educational experiences related to career goals and special areas of interest through the following opportunities:

Interns advance the work of the Foundation in practical hands-on experiences related to future career selections. Interns also develop skills for future career applications.

Selection - The Foundation continuously accepts applications. A typical internship lasts 90 days or less, with schedules based on the type of duties. Interns can fulfill college credit. Applicants are selected through an interview and evaluation process.

General criteria:

Area of Study - Students studying in the following areas are encouraged to apply: accounting, conference center management; sales; food service; dietary management; horticulture; landscape management; journalism; communications; public relations; marketing; education; kinesiology; clerical and secretarial; construction science; environmental or interpretive sciences; fund development; hotel and restaurant management; wildlife biology and management and park resource management.

Compensation - The Foundation awards a stipend based on the amount of time and work completed during the program.
