Kansas 4-H Journal
The Journal - published six times per year for nearly 9,100 4-H families - is the only statewide 4-H magazine in the nation.
The Kansas 4-H Journal promotes, shares and unifies the Kansas 4-H community. Since 1950, the magazine brings together 4-H'ers in each of the 105 Kansas counties focusing on current 4-H topics.
The six issues focus on the following areas: careers and education, camping, communication, community service, donor recognition, state recognition, recruiting, project selection, leaders and parents guide and written for kids by kids.
The careers and education issue includes tuition and enrollment figures from all Kansas universities and colleges, as well as vocational technical schools. Mailed to all Kansas high schools, this issue highlights all available 4-H scholarships. This is a widely used issue by the educational community as they assist students in making career and educational decisions.
A sponsorship program allows businesses, corporations and individuals to purchase gift subscriptions of the Journal for 4-H families in their area. Local Extension offices and the Foundation cooperatively operate the sponsorship program. Page sponsorships and advertising add to the revenue generated for the Journal.
