Collingwood Leadership Summer Internships

Join our staff for Summer 2020 as a Collingwood Leadership Intern! There are two different focuses for our internship program.

 Communications and Video Focus

Interested in learning how a non-profit organization operates? Join our team at the Kansas 4-H Foundation and gain hands-on experience working in a philanthropic organization in areas of communication and donor relations. In this position, you will work with our marketing and events manager to coordinate communication pieces around our spring event, Emerald Circle, as well as create impact videos and reports and manage social media campaigns. 

You will have opportunities to visit Rock Springs Ranch, travel across Kansas interacting with donors and trustees as well as completing an interest-focused project by the end of the summer. 

Qualifications

  • Student applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
  • Must have been a 4-H member
  • Must have strong oral and written communications skills 
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build relationships with others
  • Must have good organizational skills and ability to balance multiple tasks at one time
  • Must have excellent computer skills and proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud
    •  Experience or desire to learn Adobe Premiere Pro for video projects is encouraged
  • Must be available to start May 18, 2020
  • Must have or find housing in Manhattan, Kansas


Donor Relations and Database Focus

Interested in learning how a non-profit organization operates and how good data affects the success? Join our team at the Kansas 4-H Foundation and gain hands-on experience working in a philanthropic organization in areas of stewardship communication and database management. In this position, you will spend time with the development team learning about donor relations, stewardship, database management, and gift processing. 

You will have opportunities to visit Rock Springs Ranch, travel across Kansas interacting with donors and trustees as well as completing an interest-focused project by the end of the summer. 

Qualifications

  • Student applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
  • Must have been a 4-H member
  • Must have strong oral and written communications skills 
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build relationships with others
  • Must have good organizational skills and ability to balance multiple tasks at one time
  • Ability to pay close attention to details and be well organized
  • Must have excellent computer skills and proficient in Excel
  • Must be available to start May 18, 2020
  • Must have or find housing in Manhattan, Kansas
